JOB SUMMARY
There are many different types and sizes of machines used to convert materials. These machines range widely in their complexity.
Some machines are quite easy to run; others require substantially more skill and experience.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Properly use machines.
- Make proper use of test and inspection devices as required by the group leader and / or job packet.
- Prepare daily time accountability and paperwork.
- Read and follow job paperwork as required.
- Maintain safe and clutter-free work area.
- Enter recommendations to management for improvements in areas such as personal safety, improved product quality, better rates and yields, or any other matters that impact shop costs or employees health.
- Practice safe working habits as detailed in the Company Safety Manual and Employee Handbook.
- Secure help if item to be lifted or carried exceeds weights given in the Physical requirements section of the Job Description.
- Perform packaging, assembly, duties as directed by group leader
- Do other tasks as directed by the group leader.
CRITICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Set up machines as required.
- Recognize quality, acceptable product.
- Assist in the training of inexperienced persons.
- Be skilled in the operation of many pieces of equipment throughout the plant(s).
- Be sufficiently skilled to work with minimum supervision once initial training is completed and verified by the supervisor.
- Employee must pass the job related physical requirement testing.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to lift up to 60lbs
- Ability to push / pull up to 150lbs.
- Frequent bending.
- Standing up to an entire shift (10 hours).
