Summary
The Patient Care Tech / PCT II assists with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to the patients and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse in charge of the team and / or unit.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Nursing Assistant Certification or Medical Assistant Certification or a minimum 1 year of experience performing nursing assistant duties in acute care nursing / hospital setting.
- Current Nursing Assistant Certification or Medical Assistant Certification or EMS Certification is preferred but not required.
- Current BLS for health care providers
- Demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge and skills. Ability to use computer driven patient care equipment.
- Technical / Vocational training and ongoing demonstrated competence in one or more of the following modalities : EKG reading, HUC / Clerical, Phlebotomy, Monitor Tech

Education :
Required : High school diploma or GED.
Experience :
Required : 3 years of experience in a medical setting. Familiarity with medical terminology and laboratory data.
Preferred : 5 years of experience as a nursing assistant or clerical staff in a medical environment.
Certifications : Required : AHA BLS.
