Job Summary :

This is a field service position in which the technician is responsible for performing installations, modifications, repairs and training duties at various customer locations in Colorado.

Some out of state work may be required). The technician is expected to work in a team environment and independently, as well as perform all duties up to Advantage Security Inc's.

Schedule :

  • Monday Friday 0730-1600
  • Occasionally weekend work required

Experience :

  • Access Control : 1 year (Preferred)
  • Camera : 1 year (Preferred)

Basic Requirements :

  • 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • US citizenship or possess the right to work permit
  • Ability to pass a drug screen test and background check to include THC...
  • Ability to fluently speak, read, and write English
  • Driver's License (Required)

Essential Functions and Responsibilities :

  • Installing, maintaining and repairing Surveillance Systems, Access Control Systems, Intercoms, and associated software and components
  • Developing a complete understanding of proper techniques for installing, maintaining and testing residential and commercial systems
  • Examining cameras and equipment to diagnose malfunction, using work aids and specifications
  • Writing detailed reports on all tasks performed on each individual account
  • Serving as the night call manager on a rotating schedule. (Rotation schedule will vary based on number of techs in the department in the rotation at any given time)
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, diagrams, instructions, or specifications to determine needed repairs, fabrication method, and operation sequence
  • Instructing customers on the proper use of their system
  • Following the Advantage Security Inc's. installation and service manuals

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :

  • Background knowledge with basic electronics
  • Knowledge of computer networking, routing, switching & LAN topologies
  • Electronic troubleshooting using digital and analog Volt / Ohm / Amp meter
  • Detail oriented with ability to maintain accurate records
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to hear and see effectively and efficiently (good depth perception, color vision, field of vision)

Work Environment :

The employee will work in a variety of environments. Work is performed at customer’s sites and the conditions will range from an office setting to plant / factory.

The employee should be prepared to work in any environment. A Camera / Access Technician is required to perform tasks indoors and outdoors during the entire year.

The technician should be dressed appropriately to enable them to work outdoors in extreme temperatures.
