Position Overview :

The Data Analyst will play an important role in Newell Brands' strategy to enable business transformation by creating a data-driven insight-based culture throughout the organization.

This role is in the newly forming Data Quality Office and / or part of a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Center of Expertise (COE).

The successful candidate will need business, data, and technical skills to facilitate the collaboration between the business, data, and technical teams.

They will require proficiency in data practices and business knowledge as it relates to the data domain of PRODUCT and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes.

This position will support the organization by entering, monitoring, and analyzing data across the organization with efforts to improve and sustain quality data.

Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to guarantee all product information is accurate and complete. Partner with project stakeholders on delays, bottlenecks, and resource constraints.
  • Perform data entry of PRODUCT related data for new products and product changes into PLM systems.
  • Participate in deploying the data governance framework across the PRODUCT data domain.
  • Profile data for data quality measurements.
  • Document data definitions and standards.
  • Apply business rules to data to measure data quality levels.
  • Build requirements and design data quality checking processes.
  • Ensure consistency across technology and drive for data integrity and standard processes.
  • Attend PLM gate review meetings to offer data quality assistance.
  • Build strong working relationships with cross-functional partners to understand opportunities for improvement, address customer needs and PRODUCT data pain-points.
  • Create manufacturing Bill of Materials to be used in SAP ECC (Enterprise Core Component) environment.
  • Ensure consistency across SAP, Windchill, Stibo, and Salsify and drive for data integrity.
  • Support cross-functional participants by providing instruction on change request documentation and task requirements by project.

Participate in recurring refresher trainings to larger audiences.

Assist product data analysts in other categories when needed.

Qualifications :

  • Business acumen regarding the product development lifecycle with a history of using data to solve business problems, a strategic and technical mindset, and an ability to drive and own business relationships.
  • 2+ years in working with product data and product lifecycle management processes.
  • Bachelor's degree or above.
  • Ability to operate in a matrixed team environment with deadlines and deliverable dates shifting around.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • PLM system or change management system experience. Windchill experience a plus.
  • Manufacturing experience in the consumer goods industry.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Self-starter with high degree of motivation to learn and go above and beyond.
  • Intellectual curiosity for digging into data quality concerns.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills at all levels; ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others at all levels.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet project deadlines.
  • Critical thinking skills a must.
  • Process improvement experience a plus.
