Job description In office Medical Assistant Bilingual Preferred Position Objective : Medical Assistant (MA) will perform a variety of administrative and clinical tasks within the Agency, such as helping provide care to clients / person, and keep the office operations running smoothly.
This individual will report directly to the Director of Nursing. Essential Job Duties : Able to accurately schedule clients for Doctors Appointment, and print out consultants for staff Demonstrates an understanding of Quality Assurance / Quality Control standards;
completes lab requests, referrals, and health forms. Able to identify when a client / person is in need of a referral and / or preauthorization.
Answers and screens Nursing office calls and understands when it is acceptable to release patients' protected health information.
Able to obtain patient vital signs and properly document them in the client / person's medical record. Interviews, triages, and prepares clients / person to facilitate smooth flow, assists providers in medical examinations, and provides other general assistance to the provider and staff as necessary.
Performs other projects and duties as assigned. Educational / Experience Requirements : High School diploma or equivalent.
At least 3 years of clerical experience in a medical office setting. Required License / Certifications : CMA, RMA or AAMA (through an approved / accredited organization) preferred Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification is required.
