OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for repair, installation and maintenance of the hotel physical plant and its equipment.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum lifting of 50lbs.
- Ability to verbally communicate effectively with guests and co-workers
- Pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and upward reaching
- Some exposure to cleaning chemicals
- Prolonged periods of standing and / or walking
- Use safe work practices and report all safety violations and accidents
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Practice the Basics of Brilliant Hosting at all times
- Perform preventative maintenance on hotel equipment under the direction of engineering management
- Conduct routine repairs on all hotel equipment under the direction of engineering management
- The ability to do guest room preventative maintenance without direct supervision
- The ability to do light paint touch ups, repair wallpaper, drywall and make the items disappear as not to be visible to the normal eye
- Have knowledge of light masonry repairs
- Should have basic skills in the following areas : electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and air conditioning
- Must have the basic knowledge of troubleshooting down equipment, realizing the importance of each piece of equipment not being down
- Should have basic knowledge of the tools and equipment used in the engineering department and its operation.
- Must be able to learn the areas of the facility and how to handle emergency situations.
- Each associate is expected to complete, within their ability, all reasonable requests by management.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Marriott policies, procedures, training and associate involvement activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
