PGH Wong Engineering, Inc. has a proud and lengthy history of delivering innovative, challenging, and complex projects. PGH Wong was established in 1985 on its extraordinary foundation in systems engineering and is now a full-service engineering, architecture, construction management, and program / project management consulting firm for public and private entities across the nation.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following :
- Perform construction inspection of transit projects involving roadway, site work, stations, aerial guideways, buildings, walls, barriers, drainage, grading, and utilities.
- Record and file necessary documents pertaining to construction progress including daily field diaries, red-line As-Built Plans, and final reports
- Assist in contractor progress payment review
- Provide field support services for submittals, RFIs, and requests for contract change orders
- Notify Resident Engineer of any observed non-conformance and assist in issuing non-conformance reports
- Document as-built conditions as observed
- Survey and document change order work in the field
- Document labor and equipment expenditures on force account work.
- Monitor contractors' quality control activities for civil, utilities, roadway, and structural elements.
Qualifications and Experience :
- 5+ years of construction inspection experience
- Understand of construction means and methods
- Ability to interpret utilities, civil, structural, and trackwork drawings
- Familiarity with rail transit industry standards, practices, and regulations
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field (preferred)
Skills and Competencies :
- Willing to work night shifts
- A skilled written communicator, capable of preparing clear, concise correspondence and reports
- Good at managing personalities in a construction environment
- Able to work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision
- Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word
- Willing and physically able to perform inspections in an outdoor field environment
