We are searching for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our cardiac critical care APP team- someone who works well in a fast-paced - high stress setting.

In this position, you will provide critical care to neonates, infants, children, adolescents, and young adults with congenital and acquired heart disease, acute and chronic conditions, including independent and interdependent responsibilities in the assessment, diagnosis, initiation of treatment, evaluation of interventions, perform procedures, and evaluation of outcomes.

60% during evenings, weekends, or holidaysWe are a highly specialized team that provides direct care and assumes responsibility for the clinical management of pediatric cardiac critical care patients in the pediatric cardiac intensive care unit and as a critical care resource provider.

We are a 24-bed unit with an average daily census of 20. The unit is jointly staffed with pediatric critical care fellows and advanced practice providers who equally share patient care responsibilities;

however, our APPs are considered experts with MCS and complex critically ill patient management. We are a top 5 heart transplant program with a growing VAD service.

We have a pediatric MCS transport program to support our large geographical area. Our team performs more than 500 heart surgeries per year and 698 cardiac catheterization procedures.

Learn more about our Heart Center at #LI-BD1Required Education / Experience : For NPs in the critical care role : Master's degree in nursing with a concentration in acute careFor PAs : Graduate of a nationally accredited physician assistant programRequired Credentials : For NPs : Active, unencumbered registered nurse and advanced registered nurse practitioner licensure in the State of WashingtonCurrent national certification as a pediatric or family nurse practitionerFor PAs : Active, unencumbered physician assistant licensure in the State of WashingtonInitial certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician AssistantsFor All Providers : Active Drug Enforcement Authority registrationPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)Some clinical locations may require American Heart Association Pediatric Life Support training and continuous maintenance of certification.

Active clinical privileges as an Allied Health Provider at Seattle Children's Hospital must be secured prior to time of hire and must be maintained in good standing and in compliance with all medical staff bylaws, continuously throughout employment.

Any and all medical or allied health professional staff privileges at Children's will terminate automatically upon the termination of the individual's employment at Children's.

Termination of employment does not prohibit the individual from seeking medical or allied health professional staff privileges at Children's as a non-employee in any category for which the individual qualifies.
