Commercial Roofing Senior Project Manager

The Commercial Roofing Senior Project Manager is responsible for planning, controlling, implementation, and tracking of multiple concurrent commercial roof projects from pre-construction to completion.

We are looking for an Experienced and Team Oriented roofing professional to lead the management of projects while focusing on completion on time and within budget.

Prior experience working for Commercial Roofing Contractor is required.

Position Summary :

The Sr Project Manager, under the direct supervision of the President (or other direct report listed above), is responsible for planning, controlling, implementation, and tracking of multiple concurrent commercial roof projects from pre-construction to completion.

This role requires technical commercial roofing experience and will be entrusted with larger and more complex projects and may provide mentorship to less experienced project managers and / or superintendents.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities :

• Oversee large and complex projects.
• Work with appropriate construction team(s) to produce a comprehensive construction plan.
• Collaborate with Safety team to produce and implement comprehensive safety plan.
• Mentor and train project managers and superintendents, as required.
• Prepare project schedules and phasing plans.
• Manage job costs through ECAC and WIP reviews.
• Control manpower on project(s).
• Ecac jobs.
• Coordinate project activities to attain successful goals on all projects by focusing attention on time and in budget project completion.
• Be effective in reading and takeoffs from Plans / Specs for new / reroof projects.
• On site management of assigned projects including coordination / supervision of subcontractors.
• Oversee and manage work performed by crews and / or subcontractors, as required.
• Controlling and prioritizing multiple activities while handling multiple projects.
• Assist in winning profitable repeat business by cultivating customer relationships during management of projects.
• Controlling and prioritizing multiple activities while handling multiple projects.
• Participate in pre-job meetings with handoff from estimating to operations on assigned projects.
• Prepare purchase orders request for review.
• Participate in all pre-construction meetings.
• Maintain communication with project contacts regarding scheduling.
• Ensure inventory of materials received at project site.
• Coordinate Final Inspections with Customer / Manufacturer and advise Estimating of completion.
• Complete Project closeout documents.
• Overall responsibility for Quality Control of projects.
• Verify that Safety plan is executed per Nations Roof Policies.
• Work with the Estimating team to provide input during bidding process.
• Assist Estimating on an as needed basis on job walks and small service projects.
• Supervise the job, as required.
• Review and approval of time sheets in preparation for payroll on job(s), as required.
• Purchase Orders in accounting software, as required.
• Provide Leadership on behalf of the executive team.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills / Knowledge :

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively plan, organize and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality.
• Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, details and specifications.
• Intermediate computer skills required. (Microsoft Suite : Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Ability to budget, measure department and motivate personnel.

Education / Experience :

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field, preferred.
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
• 5- years commercial roofing experience or an equivalent market, manufacturing or distribution experience servicing the commercial roofing marketplace.
• Experience with Microsoft Project, Bluebeam and / or construction project management experience, highly preferred.
