About The Position
Job Title : Surgical Tech Job Specialty : OR Scrub Tech (Operating Room) Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 8-hour days Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week Experience : Minimum 2 years License : Required to submit application Certifications : BLS (ACLS and CST preferred) Must-Have : Cerner EMR proficiency Job Description : - Work in an operating room with 7 suites handling 18-20 cases per day.
- Engage in various cases such as Laparoscopic, Bariatrics, Ortho, Neuro, Uro, GYN, and ENT. - Provide critical support alongside OR techs, with a ratio of 1 : 1 or 2 : 1.
- No weekend requirement for RN's and CST's, but call requirements exist for both roles, including some nights and weekends;
one weeknight per week and two 12-hour weekend call shifts a month with a 30-minute response time. - Operate under a variable shift structure (8 or 10 hours) with floating required in pre and post-op only.
- Scrub color is provided. - Orientation includes 12 hours specific to the floor. - Familiarity with Phillips telemetry and working with vents.
- Work alongside an RT and Pharmacy available 24 / 7. - Involvement in the assembly of sets and decontamination duties with equipment such as Steris and Sterrad.
- Adhere to hospital's cancellation policy, with up to three cancellations per contract. - Charting using the Cerner system is required.
