Position Title : Academic Dean Reports to : Principal Employment Classification : 12-Month employee, Full time, Exempt Join the Transformation of Catholic Education in Milwaukee Seton Catholic Schools is the Archdiocese of Milwaukee’s model for K-8 parish schools in Greater Milwaukee.
The Seton Family of Catholic Schools will serve over 3500 students at our 14 schools for the 2024-25 school year, and we plan to grow to over 20 schools serving more than 5000 students.
Seton is strengthening academics, faith formation and life-long outcomes for all students and is a unique model on the front end of transforming Catholic education in Milwaukee and across the nation.
Role Summary : The Academic Dean at a Seton Catholic School will bring an all in attitude to driving schoolwide academic success and faith formation.
They will use the Seton Catholic Schools Shared Values to align organizational culture and staff actions. A Seton Academic Dean will support the Principal as the instructional leader of their school and as such will focus at least two-thirds of their time on activities involved in classrooms, coaching, and developing instructional staff to continuously improve their lesson delivery and further student achievement.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following : Model expectations for leaders, teachers, staff, and students on school-wide practices for a positive learning culture.
Use weekly observations, coaching, and feedback to evaluate all instructional staff on their effectiveness. Direct the school's standards-based assessment strategies and systems to cultivate a data-driven culture where assessments are used to increase learning and support for all students.
Infuse Catholic faith and values into the daily life of the school by engaging parish leaders, families, and other local stakeholders.
Participate in Seton Catholic Schools network initiatives, including but not limited to long-term academic planning; service, character, and faith-formation initiatives.
Oversee and direct professional development of all instructional staff, including teachers and instructional educational assistants, in collaboration with the school principal.
Create a culture of sharing effective practices and resources among instructional staff. Ensure annual performance goals are set with all instructional staff, in collaboration with the school principal.
Other duties as assigned by the school principal or Seton leadership. Qualifications : Deep belief in the potential of all children and the values of Catholic education.
Commitment to driving academic and spiritual growth in all students. Ability to build strong relationships, collaborate with others, and cultivate a loving, joyful school culture.
Personal responsibility for professional results. A data-driven mindset. Demonstrated ability to operate with a growth mindset and be open to and seek opportunities for feedback.
Experience working with students and families with diverse backgrounds and needs. At least three years of teaching experience demonstrating excellent instructional practices and student outcomes.
Bachelor’s degree and teaching license required. Willingness to complete leadership licensure. Compensation and Benefits : Competitive pay commensurate with experience.

Physical Demands : This position requires physical skills that will allow the employee to work in a typical office setting, such as standing, sitting, talking and listening on the phone, and moving between offices and buildings.
