Production Operators
Now is the time to join a leader for the past 70 years in custom plastic extrusion. Our client has pioneered in the extrusion process and is setting industry standards.
The primary purpose of Production Operators is to operate all extrusion and downstream equipment and run all production jobs.
In addition, as a Production Operator is responsible for effectively producing high quality products.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform basic set-up and tear down of extruders and downstream equipment with minimal supervision.
- Mix material for each production job.
- Complete maintenance of die, sleeve, and afterform (includes cleaning, polishing, rust-proofing, and warehousing).
- Adjust machinery as needed (take-off speed, screw speed, temperature, air pressure, etc.).
- Change tubing and profile dies.
- Make Teflon insulation discs for dies and seals for vacuum sizing tanks.
- Skills / Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Prefer 1-3 years of hands-on thermoplastic extrusion experience
- Understand basic running and drying temperatures
- Basic math skills, including general understanding of fractions and decimals
- Hi-Lo license
- Basic blueprint reading
