Description :
The Medical Records Clerk provides support for the administration of medical records for Occupational Medical Services at the Hanford environmental restoration site in Richland, Washington.
Requirements :
- Coordinates daily clinic schedule : schedule all patient appointments; provide reminders daily for all appointments; notify patients of all schedule changes.
- Maintains database of protocols and responds to requests for protocol information.
- Processes Safety Form 66 for protocol medical qualification (chart review, physical exam, documentation).
- Schedules medical appointments as requested and provides patient directions / instructions.
- Responds to all voicemail and email messages within 24 hours.
- Maintains statistical database of patient encounters, and prepare periodic reports as required.
- Prepares medical records for non-active employees to be transferred to a storage facility.
- Maintains confidentiality and security of medical information and records.
- Coordinates requests related to badge and pass requirements for visitors, employees, and sub-contractors.
- Provides coverage for fitness center in absence of regular fitness center staff.
- Function as back up and assist receptionist as needed.
- Participate in health promotion and wellness programming as directed by the Project Manager / Clinic Director
Qualifications :
- The Medical Records Clerk must have certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and certification in automated external defibrillator.
- Minimum six months of experience in office environment years of recent experience in a similar position wherein responsibilities entailed.
Education / Training :
The Medical Records Clerk shall possess a high school diploma.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :
- Knowledge of personal computers with proficiency in MS office applications, or capability to develop such proficiency.
- Proficiency in communicating effectively with patients, co-workers, the Hanford community, and other clients, using various methods to communicate (in person, telephone, facsimile, email, telecommunications devices for the deaf TDD ).
- Capable of seeing and hearing adequately to perform essential functions.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret communications and documents.
- Capable of performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Licenses / Certifications / Registrations :
MA - certification
Supervisory Responsibilities :
The opportunity exists to have additional Contracts support personnel.
Working Conditions :
General office environment and may require minor lifting and bending.
Complies with all Company safety policies and site-specific safety procedures. Participates in and supports the Hanford safety program.
Ensures safe operating conditions within area of responsibility. Identifies potential hazards, concerns, and safety incidents and reports to supervisory personnel.
