Job Description / Essential Elements :

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS :

Experience teaching an art specialist program within the last five years.

Teach knowledge and skills in art, including drawing, painting, lettering, and art history.? Evaluate each student's performance and growth in applying the elements of art.

Demonstrate techniques in activities such as drawing, painting, clay, 3-D design, graphic design,photography, etc.

Demonstrated expertise in integrating instructional technology to teach the California Standards forVisual Arts in transformative ways.

Must be comfortable using iPads, laptops, document cameras, and projection systems.? Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve effective participation in allactivities.

Proven ability to successfully and respectfully work with a wide range of students. Experience implementing positive behavior interventions and systems of support.

Demonstrated expertise in communicating with parents through a variety of means.? Interested in building long-term relationships with students and families.

Demonstrated success in working one-on-one with underperforming students to meet his / her needsthrough targeted intervention.

Provide individual and small-group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students withvarying artistic abilities, and to accommodate a variety of instructional activities in response to the needsof a variety of students.

Instruct students in proper care and use of tools and equipment.

Organize storage areas and control use of materials, equipment and tools to prevent loss or abuse.

Successful experience implementing systems which minimize time required for distribution and collectionof materials.

Select and order books, instructional materials, tools, instructional aids, and maintain required inventoryrecords.

Plan and present art displays and exhibitions designed to showcase students' work for the school and inthe community.

Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the school and / or inself-selected professional growth activities.

Communicate collaboratively with classroom teachers, parents, and school administration, and office staffon pupil progress

Desire to teach other developmental programs, such as after school or lunchtime art clubs.

Perform any other duties assigned by Administration.

REQUIRED CREDENTIALS AND AUTHORIZATIONS :

Valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with Art authorization to teach elementary student or Single Subject in Art authorized to teach elementary students;

CLAD / ELA or BCLAD certificate is required.
