REPORTS TO : General Manager, DPWagner, LLC
ROLE : This role is a key individual who will be assist in the Research and Development of new products for our manufactured program solutions within the surface prep, patch and repair category.
These product solutions are sold wholesale to retailers such as The Home Depot, Lowes, WalMart, Amazon and others under our Strong-Patch and MaxPatch brands, as well as Private Label programs.
This role will provide for :
- Raw Material Discovery and Validation
- Formulation of Products and Validation
- Production of Lab Samples for Testing / Review
- Performance Criteria Establishment and Validation
- Competitive Product Analysis
- Present / Report on Results and Findings to Team
The Research and Development Associate will work with product programs spanning Repair Compounds, Caulks, Adhesives, Paints and other latex based programs.
Areas of Key Accountability :
- Formulary Trialing
- Lab Batch / Pilot Batch Production
- Formulary Validation through testing
- Formulary Testing against competitive and industry standards
- Focus Group leadership
- Assisting R&D Leader in overall project management and completion
- Achievement of production solutions within agreed upon parameters
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following :
- 4 year degree with focus on Science - Chemistry
- 2-3 years experience working within Industrial / Commercial Lab Environment
- Work Experience with Latex Chemistry, Film Formation and Formulation
- Background with or Industry Adjacent Knowledge : Paints, Adhesives, High Viscosity Compounds, Carpet Backing
- Project Management Experience
