Payroll Specialist Responsibilities :
- Process bi-weekly or monthly payroll for employees accurately and efficiently
- Calculate and input payroll data, including hours worked, bonuses, commissions and deductions
- Verify payroll reports for accuracy and resolve any discrepancies
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll-related matters
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure compliance with payroll regulations and company policies
- Assist with payroll tax filings and other payroll-related compliance tasks
- Stay updated on payroll regulations and best practices
Payroll Specialist Requirements :
- Previous experience as a payroll specialist or similar role
- Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources or related field preferred
- Certification in payroll (e.g., CPP Certified Payroll Professional) a plus
- Experience with ADP, Paychex or other payroll processing systems preferred
- Knowledge of multi-state payroll processing preferred
- Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems)
