Project Coordinator

Purpose :

The ideal candidate understands and enjoys construction project management and its critical role in supporting quality construction and repairs projects.

Goal setting and achieving, effective listening and communication skills, and willingness to collaborate are critical to success in this role.

The ideal candidate is organized, wants to learn and contribute, seeks to solve problems, and is comfortable managing multiple responsibilities.

Reports To :

The Director of Construction & Engineering Services for Wirtz Realty Corporation.

Required Duties :

• Oversee all elements of project documentation for a wide range of construction and repair projects
• Maintain accurate budgets and cost projections and track actual costs versus approved budgets
• Manage payment process for draws and invoices
• Maintain accurate project schedules
• Participate in project budgeting and variance reporting meetings
• Assist with development of cost estimates of assigned projects
• Assist with solicitation and finalization of bids and contracts
• Coordinate project start-up and close-out checklist preparation and reviews
• Organize and manage project documents, including drawings, submittals, contracts, etc.

Must possess :

• High level of professionalism
• Background in construction or engineering accounting, finance, or construction project management
• Strong communication skills : listening, speaking, and writing
• Strong organizational skills
• High interest in working in real estate construction and / or development industries

Required Skills :

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred , with experience in accounting, finance, construction project management, or related concentration
• Three years’ experience in construction project management, construction project accounting, or related experience
• Strong experience in creating and working in Excel spreadsheets

Physical Demands of Job :

• Frequent hand motion with answering and dialing phones, computer work
• Occasional carrying and lifting of 40 pounds to perform various duties
• Extended sitting for long periods of time at desk or workstation
• Occasional climbing, bending, stooping and other activities required to safely and effectively work in and around properties and construction sites
