Neiman Marcus Beverly Hills is seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager

This is a daytime position. The hours are typically 10am-7pm. 5 days a week. No more late nights and 65-hour work weeks.
The Restaurant assistant manager role is responsible for creating and maintaining the restaurant work schedule and supporting the Restaurant General Manager or Manager / Chef in all aspects of daily Restaurant operations.
This role sets the standard for their staff in order to serve Neiman Marcus customers in a warm, accommodating, and professional manner by greeting and seating customers.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Sets and maintains the standard for staff as to personal hygiene, cleanliness of the restaurant, interaction between Associates, and store family, maintaining the high quality in service, food, beverage, and other items pertinent to the overall dining experience
- Creates efficient and flexible restaurant schedules in partnership with key kitchen staff to identify specific needs in their respective area
- Coordinates with key kitchen staff to obtain necessary food items to cover menus and special events, maintaining awareness of inventory quantity and quality control standards to avoid waste
- Coordinates with key dining room staff in the preparation and follow-through of daily guest service
- Notes any lapse in service standards that may be experienced by guest and relays awareness and appropriate communication to staff
- Completes daily, weekly, and monthly reports to forecast business and sales projections
- Plans schedules, keeps track of inventory, and budgets
- Delegates responsibilities to Associates and follows up on completion
- Supports coordination and execution of special events
- Reviews catering prospectus details to ensure accuracy of guest count, etc.
- Responsible for all rentals, labor, beer, wine, and other variables that may be included but not listed
- Builds relationship with customers, behaving as representative of the restaurant
Qualifications
- Highschool diploma or GED preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously
- Motivated and results-driven
- Knowledge of proper placement of china, glass, and flatware for table settings
- Thorough knowledge of order of service and proper placement of table settings (e.g., china, glass, flatware), food, and beverage as indicated by the kitchen ticket and the guidebook
- Thorough knowledge of food, including preparation and culinary terminology
- Ability to interact graciously with the public and handle multiple duties at the same time
- Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills

- Basic proficiency with MS Office Product Suite preferred
- Role requires standing, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting and carrying 35 pounds
- Associates must be willing to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, which will include evenings, weekends, and holidays
