Responsible for Plant Maintenance operations in American Airlines' largest HUB where maintenance work is conducted in-house or contracted to a vendor.

Directly oversee facilities maintenance operations and direct organized labor. Direct and manage the contract vendors with Tech Ops maintenance management team to ensure facilities-related work is maintained per company standards and the Facilities Maintenance Manual.

What you'll doAssists Management in evaluating Plant Maintenance employees and vendors for qualifications, experience levels, facilities, parts support and overall ability to comply with Facility maintenance department programs and proceduresMakes technical recommendations regarding the facilities department, review contracts and vendor quotes for accuracy and correct job scopeInitiates and manages repair work orders for time and material vendors as per the outlined proceduresReviews vendor invoices for correct labor and material chargesInforms Station Management of Facilities abuse related damage and accident repair costAssists local station management, personnel and vendors with part procurement and technical expertise to expedite repairsWorks with station personnel and vendors for product improvement and equipment upgrades.

Provide vendors with direction to enhance the operation and improve cost efficienciesPerforms Facilities, station, and vendor audits to ensure compliance with all Facilities Maintenance policies, procedures and standardsCompletes other duties as assigned by managementSome travel may be requiredMust pass a background reference check and criminal fingerprint checkMust pass a background for SIDA badge, if applicableAll you'll need for successMinimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience High School diploma or GED equivalency1 year leadership experience supervising production operation in an area related to heavy / shop maintenanceExperience supervising / leading represented workgroupsKnowledge of HVAC and industrial mechanical systems Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job ExperienceStrong working knowledge of the General Procedure Manual and Safety Policy Procedure ManualKnowledge of airport facilities maintenance and general repairsKnowledge of Airport Baggage Sortation system Knowledge of labor reporting and crew utilizationStrong interpersonal and PC skills Skills, Licenses & Certifications Electrical or HVAC certificationAbility to manage multiple areas of responsibilityExcellent analytical, organization and planning skillsAbility to assign work to designated workersKnowledge of Microsoft OfficeUnderstanding of airline / technical operationsAbility to multi-taskAbility to change direction when neededWhat you'll getFeel free to take advantage of all that American Airlines has to offer : Travel Perks : Ready to explore the world?
