Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Set up and operate press break machines and other equipment as required by daily activities requirements.
- Run forming operations using standard and custom punches.
- Use a CNC controller to input information into machine that pertain to the part being formed.
- Adjust ram and back gauge positions as needed
- Checks height, depth, and thickness using calipers, gauges, and other precision-measuring instruments.
- Perform complex programming using all features of the press brake.
- Work with customer tolerances to meet specifications.
- Meet customer specifications and delivery requirements.
- Perform spot inspections of parts.
- Perform general maintenance on press brakes as needed
- Complete and maintain paperwork.
- Configure bend allowances for sheet metal (stainless, aluminum & regular steel).
- Ensure machine is calibrated and cleaned.
- Read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
Operation Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities :
- 3-5 years experience with setting up and operating Press Brake
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years experience in a metal manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to use measuring instruments (e. g. gauges, micrometers, calipers).
- Must be able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to machining problems.
- Physical Requirements :
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand entire shift
- Requires routine lifting, bending, leaning, kneeling, etc.
