Position Summary : A senior management team member who directs all medical services of Care Alliance and assists in efforts to achieve its mission of providing quality medical services to individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness or living in public housing, regardless of their ability to pay, including HIV / AIDS, diabetes, substance abuse, and mental health services.
The Chief Medical Officer provides comprehensive, coordinated primary and preventive health care and provides supervision of medical staff including nurse practitioners and volunteer physicians.
Responsibilities :
Assure that the Health Center's philosophy and mission statement are pertinent and practiced while providing comprehensive primary medical care for men, women, and children.
Provide care and treatment to patients as needed.
- Develop schedules and coordinate coverage at all sites.
- Oversee day-to-day operation of primary health care clinics and coordinate outreach programs.
- Complete administrative and analytical tasks as required.
- Hire, orient and supervise the Director of Nursing and mid-level providers
- Act as preceptor and coordinate all professional student activities in conjunction with participating in university programs and nursing schools.
- Ensure the development and implementation of required training and personal development plans.
- Train new physicians on policies and keep current medical staff up to date on health regulations.
- Set annual goals and objectives for the clinical staff as part of the health care plan.
- Oversee the Quality department to ensure all QA initiatives are met.
- Ensure HRSA, OSV and Joint Commission compliance.
- Respond to complaints from patients and staff
- Collaborate with the CEO to develop, implement and monitor business, health care and strategic plans..
- Provide monthly reports to the CEO and Board of Directors.
- Maintain a climate that attracts, retains, and motivates top quality staff
- Perform other duties and tasks as directed.
Requirements :
Must be a licensed Family Practice, General Practice, or Internal Medicine Physician in good standing with all State Medical Boards.
Successful completion of an accredited residency program.
Minimum of 3 years' experience as a practicing physician
Current license to practice medicine in the state of Ohio.
Valid DEA Certificate.
Experience leading and managing healthcare workers.
Prior ambulatory care, experience in dealing with medically underserved populations, and FQHC experience preferred.
Ability to support and work collaboratively with the CEO and COO to develop, implement, and monitor the business, health care and strategic plans.
