The Composite Strengthening Systems (CSS) Sales Assistant will support the CSS Project Manager fielding project inquiries, processing orders, and providing exceptional customer service to facilitate the smooth operation of the CSS product line.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)
Sales and Project Support (100%)
- Enter customer purchase orders and Engineering / R&D order requests into SAP
- Oversee material shipments, ensuring access to job sites and confirmed delivery contact.
- Process change order requests authorized by Project Manager
- Identify and report inventory needs across stocking branches to Project Manager
- Capture and relay any customer-facing product issues requiring remediation to Project Manager for follow up
- Track all open customer orders, allocating backordered stock for release and billing under supervision of the Project Manager
- Support field engineers by supplying requested information (such as Technical Data Sheets)
- Input sales data into various work management platforms for forecasting, project tracking, and metrics analysis
- Process any billing or shipping discrepancies, credits, re-bills authorized by Project Manager
- Field general product line inquiries with support / direction from Project Manager
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- High school diploma
- 2+ years of experience in a sales support or customer service role, preferably in the manufacturing industry
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in CRM software and ERP systems (specifically SAP).
- Excellent organizational skills
- Attention to detail (is a must have)
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of commercial construction products and applications.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial sales environment.

This job operates in both a professional office environment, customer sites and outdoor construction job sites. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printer / scanner, etc.
The employee occasionally works around moving mechanical parts. Noise level may be loud at times.
TRAVEL REQUIRED
This position may require domestic travel up to 10% of the time.
WORK STATUS & LOCATION
This part-time, non-exempt position is located in a Simpson Strong-Tie Branch (Pleasanton, CA, Dallas, TX, Columbus, OH, Gallatin, TN, West Chicago, IL, Riverside, CA or Stockton, CA) although remote work can be negotiated.

$22.31 - $40.19 / hour
