Qualifications :
The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Mid-Level Aerospace Systems Safety Engineer to join their Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Team in St. Louis, MO.
The selected candidate will provide Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) System Safety guidance and support to Engineering, Test & Technology (ET&T), Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T), and Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) labs, as well as various programs and business partners in St.
Louis and St. Charles, MO.
This role involves adhering to Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) EHS workplace safety rules, as well as BR&T and BT&E safety protocols, to mentor Boeing personnel, prevent equipment damage, and avoid environmental releases.
The position requires compliance with contract requirements and Boeing / Industry / Government Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
The primary goal is to ensure that test teams identify and address potential system hazards, either eliminating or controlling them to acceptable levels.
The BT&E Lab Test Value Stream (LTVS) engages early in the Product Test Life Cycle (PTLC) by reviewing test proposals and recommending system safety performance improvements, test plans, and procedures.
The candidate will apply system safety skills in a collaborative, interdisciplinary manner to develop and verify solutions that meet customer and partner expectations and ensure public safety.
Primary Responsibilities :
Evaluate customer / operational needs and requirements specifications to develop safety requirements, constraints and controls
Providing safety design and analysis expertise to program stakeholders and leadership
Support test preparation and operations including test hazard analysis and identification of mitigations, development of test procedures, provide test operations safety support during testing to include attendance at test brief / debrief, ensure a Pre-Mishap Plan and notification lists are in place and up to date
Utilize System Engineering tools to analyze architectures / designs and conduct safety analysis
Participate in incident investigations and root cause / corrective action analyses
Interface with customer subject matter experts
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in St. Louis, MO.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
An interim and / or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience) :
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
3+ years of experience in System Safety Engineering
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience) :
1+ years of experience in data analysis and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
Experience in Environmental, Health & Safety
Experience in implementing and / or overseeing fall protection
Typical Education / Experience :
Education / experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.
g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.
g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range : $97,750 - $132,250
