We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Real Estate Accountant in the real estate industry.
As a Real Estate Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial records and reporting for our various properties.
You will play a vital role in monitoring and analyzing financial data, preparing budgets, and providing financial advice to management.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records for multiple properties, including general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Analyze and interpret financial data to provide insights and recommendations to management.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
- Review and approve property invoices and ensure timely payment to vendors.
- Collaborate with Asset Managers and Property Managers to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes for each property.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns for properties.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Proven experience in property accounting or real estate finance.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Experience using Real Page is preferred but not required.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot errors or discrepancies.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
