About The Position
Job Title : Pediatric Clinical Nurse Job Specialty : Pediatrics Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 7 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM (3 nights per week + 4th shift required monthly, including every other weekend) Guaranteed Hours : 34.
50 hours per week Experience : Minimum of relevant pediatric experience in a hospital setting License : Registered Nurse with current registration Certifications : BLS, ACLS, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Must-Have : Experience in Pediatrics, NICU, Hematology, and Oncology Job Description : Provide safe, competent, and high-quality nursing care based on nursing theory, research, and evidence-based practice.
- Assess and evaluate patient care needs, incorporating critical thinking skills.- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate care plans.
- Prioritize patient care tasks, including teaching, rounding, coaching, planning after hospital care, and delegating responsibilities.
- Educate patients and caregivers about their care plans, promoting health and preventing disease.- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Manage assignments within the Modified Primary Nursing care delivery model.- Role model relationship-centered care and facilitate key patient care actions.
- Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families.- Use evidence-based practices to enhance understanding of patients' perceptions of care.
- Practice safe and efficient patient-centered care and engage in quality and safety improvement initiatives.- Collaborate on interdisciplinary quality improvement projects and nursing research studies.
- Conduct purposeful hourly rounding to address patient needs.- Utilize institutional information technology systems for nursing documentation and performance improvement.
- Demonstrate competence in pediatric nursing skills relevant to assignments in PEDS MS, PEDS ONC, PEDS Stepdown, NICU, and PICU.
