Job Description and Duties

This position will run until filled with the following cutoff date for review : 3 / 27 / 24, 4 / 17 / 24, 5 / 7 / 24, and every two weeks until filled.

Anticipated Interview Dates : In person interviews are anticipated to be held three weeks from each cutoff date. Telework Information : This position requires full-time attendance in the office, working onsite five days per week.

CalPERS seeks a Senior Accounting Officer, Specialist in the Financial Reporting and Accounting Services Division, Travel Unit.

The position is responsible for all aspects of processing and reimbursing administrative revolving fund account advances and payments, including, but not limited to payment, recording, reporting, and reconciliation of travel, training, salary, and miscellaneous expenses, accounts receivables, and payroll.

The position will audit relocation and travel expense claims and other requests for reimbursement from employees, board members, and retirees.

Responsible for processing the most complex TECs for Board Members, Executives, employees, and partnership reimbursed travel.

Prepares internal, external, and board reports used in tracking and monitoring the status of travel expense claims and expenditures.

Codes and records the daily deposits, responds to inquiries and PRA requests. Serves as the subject matter expert for travel rules, regulations, and the Travel Request and Expense Claim (TREK) system.

Prepares and updates travel policies, procedures, guidelines, and TREK user guides. Performs UAT testing on all TREK production releases and provides TREK training to staff.

Working Conditions

  • This position is not eligible for telework and the duties above will be performed onsite at CalPERS Headquarters in Sacramento, CA five days a week.
  • Must be able to work in the office Monday Friday from 8 : 00 am 5 : 00 pm.
  • Must be able to work in a low wall, cubicle environment with bright natural and fluorescent light.
