Major Responsibilities :
- Observes patient in inpatient setting to ensure their comfort and safety.
- Communicates closely with the registered nurse to have a better understanding of the patient's needs, diagnosis, visual, auditory or language barriers, along with any other special considerations.
- Promptly communicates observations, concerns, and needs of the patient to the registered nurse.
- Ensures patient call light is in reach of patient at all times.
- Maintains a safe work environment; follows organization and department safety policies, including standard precautions.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required :
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to effectively interact with all types of personalities.
- Willing to work in adverse conditions and the ability to convey a positive image.
- Must possess a strong commitment to service management / customer service.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, life, squat, bend, twist and reach above shoulders during the work shift.
- Must be able to :
- lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist.
- lift up to 20 lbs over the head
- Must be able to :
- push / pull with 30 lbs of force
- perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs with a second person present.
- Must have functional vision and hearing.
- May potentially be exposed to the following hazards : mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation, blood and body fluids;
therefore, personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
