MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Kavaliro is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I which will be an entry-level position focused on supporting full lifecycle product development.

This includes helping to create production drawings, reviewing designs to ensure they meet both customer and internal standards, and offering technical support to manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities : Support the complete product development process, including design, prototype testing, manufacturing, and implementation.

Design systems and components to meet specific needs, ensuring they adhere to both internal standards and customer requirements.

Conduct methodical experiments, analyze data, and interpret findings. Test and assess theoretical designs to ensure functionality.

Evaluate the performance, reliability, and safety of the final product. Modify designs as needed to meet specifications and address any issues.

Prepare technical documentation and product reports. Troubleshoot mechanical issues related to trainers or aircraft as required.

Assist in creating production drawings for machined parts, sheet metal fabrication, and mechanical assemblies. Contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at reducing development time, enhancing product quality, and lowering costs.

Recommend design solutions to meet production goals for new or updated products. Ensure safe handling of government-furnished equipment and materials.

Be available for a standard workweek and any necessary overtime. Perform additional tasks as needed. Qualifications and Skills : Proficient in AutoCAD and / or SolidWorks.

Ability to learn ASME Y14.100-2000 & Y14.5-1994 drawing standards. Ability to learn Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.

Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, and materials science.

Willingness to learn various fabrication and assembly techniques, such as metal machining, sheet metal fabrication, and welding.

Familiarity with industry and military specifications for materials, parts, and processes is preferred. Demonstrates creativity, innovation, and a commitment to excellence in a fast-paced, diverse environment.

Strong teamwork skills. Ability to travel as required. Able to take direction from a mentor or lead. Ability to adhere to company and industry standards.

Capable of obtaining a security clearance if required by the contract. Education and Experience : Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.

Military aviation maintenance experience is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required;
