About The Position
Job Title : Surgical Technologist - Days Job Specialty : Surgical Tech Job Duration : 13-week contract Shift : Day (6 : 45 AM - 3 : 15 PM with call) Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Experience : Minimum of 5 years in the operating room License : Not required, but Lic Practical Nurse preferred Certifications : - Certified Surgical Technologist or Tech in Surgery - Certified- Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have : - Strong proficiency in at least two of the following specialties : Neurology, Orthopedics, Vascular- Availability to start no more than 4 weeks from acceptance- Previous travel experience is a plus Job Description : Assist the healthcare team in providing safe, age-appropriate, and culturally aware patient care.
- Perform duties within moderate to high acuity surgical cases and anticipate the needs of the surgical team.- Demonstrate surgical skills for progressively more difficult cases and an efficient, organized surgical plan.
- Take initiative to discuss surgical plans with healthcare team members and troubleshoot instruments and equipment.- Assist with room setup, sterile field maintenance, and surgical counts.
- Maintain the highest standard of sterile technique and ensure the operative suite is safe and compliant.- Prepare and deliver sterile dressings, manage specimens, and prepare instruments for sterilization.
- Partner with patients by verifying procedures and supporting patient care and safety.- Uphold healthcare system policies, procedures, and competency standards.
- Support evidence-based practice, teamwork, and a positive work environment.- Participate in performance improvement initiatives and practice development.
- Complete all required training, education, and competencies relevant to the role.- Provide a positive learning environment for new hires and students.
- Serve as a resource for new technology and procedures introduced by surgeons.- Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring organization and cleanliness in surgical areas.
