MongoDB is seeking an exceptional Product Manager to drive the strategy and execution of our Replicated Storage Services offering.

In this role, you will shape the capabilities that enable MongoDB's distributed database to deliver durability, consistency, and scalability at mission-critical levels.

As the Product Manager for Replicated Storage Services, you will own the product vision, requirements, and execution plan for MongoDB's core storage systems, replication protocols, and durability guarantees.

You will collaborate closely with engineering teams, customers, partners, and industry experts to push the boundaries of data reliability, replication efficiency, and performance across distributed systems.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy and roadmap for MongoDB's Replicated Storage Services
  • Own the product vision, requirements, and execution plan for replication, durability, and distributed transaction capabilities
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, customers, partners, and industry experts to improve MongoDB's replication guarantees, failover mechanisms, distributed transaction consistency, data resilience, and overall data durability
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities in distributed storage, replication, and data durability solutions
  • Gather and analyze feedback, usage data, and market insights to drive product improvements that enhance the scalability and reliability of MongoDB's core storage features
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to align on product requirements, go-to-market strategies, and customer success initiatives
  • Deeply understand distributed database architectures, replication protocols, consensus algorithms, storage engines, durability, and performance tradeoffs
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility, performance, and scalability of our replication and storage features
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in distributed databases, replication, consensus, and durable storage

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in product management or a deeply technical customer-facing role
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive complex technical projects
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Strong technical acumen-our Product Managers must be as technical as their engineering counterparts and have a deep understanding of distributed systems
  • Experience with replication protocols, distributed consensus, storage engines, or other core aspects of distributed databases is highly desirable

MongoDB's base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location.

Salary is one part of MongoDB's total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include : equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings.
