Retail Assistant Manager
The Retail Assistant Manager ensures the smooth operation of the retail store while upholding Gibsons Restaurant Group's core values of Hospitality, Quality, Value, and Family.
Collaborating with the Store Manager, they support sales goals, oversee staff training, participate in hiring, and provide coverage when needed.
Their focus on exceptional customer experiences and team performance drives success in store operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Managerial Responsibilities
- Cultivate a Culture of "Every customer leaves happy
- Support Store Manager in achieving financial and operational goals
- Work alongside the Store Manager to implement strategic sales initiatives, driving revenue growth and maximizing profitability.
- Serve as a leader within the team, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to staff members to enhance their performance and foster their professional growth.
- Assist in department scheduling.
- Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager
- Train staff members on effective sales techniques, product knowledge, customer service standards and operational processes.
- Uphold company policies and procedures, reporting any compliance issues or concerns to senior management for resolution
- Maintain accurate inventory records, facilitate inventory transactions, and conduct bulk counts as directed by senior management to ensure proper inventory controls.
- Ensure the security of the store premises at closing by verifying locked doors, set alarms, and securing safes to safeguard company assets.
Overall Responsibilities
- Create visually appealing displays and arrange merchandise to optimize sales opportunities and enhance the shopping experience for customers.
- Oversee the seamless processing of incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures for accurate inventory management.
- Collaborate with the Store Manager to identify replenishment needs and promptly communicate replenishment requests to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of products to assist customers effectively and enhance their shopping experience.
- Assist the Store Manager in organizing and executing physical inventory procedures to accurately assess stock levels and identify discrepancies.
- Uphold the visual integrity of the store by ensuring mannequins are impeccably styled, displays are meticulously maintained, and merchandise is consistently organized according to company standards.
- Identify and communicate any product or fixture concerns to the Store Manager promptly, facilitating timely resolution and maintaining a polished store environment.
- Maintain adherence to folding and hanging guidelines to uphold the visual presentation standards of the store and enhance the overall shopping experience for customers.

Skills Required :
- Proficiency with POS systems
- Knowledge of various retail functions including sales techniques, exceptional customer service practices, effective merchandising strategies, inventory management principles, store budgeting procedures, and loss prevention measures.
- Demonstrate successful leadership and effective teamwork, with the ability to both lead and contribute positively to a dynamic team environment.
- Exhibit a strong commitment to meeting the demands of a thriving retail environment by maintaining a flexible schedule, including availability to work weekends, holidays, and predominantly evening shifts.
Education and Experience Required
Minimum of a high school diploma; Bachelor’s Degree or other four-year degree preferred. One to three years experience in Retail with at least one year of management experience preferred.
