Material Handler Solvent Recovery and Delivery Technician

Job Description

About the Role

The Material Handler Solvent Recover and Delivery Technicians primary function is to ensure that the life sciences manufacturing, administrative, laboratory and production zones are supplied with appropriate products including, but not limited to, specialty products including solvents, potable water, shipments, office supplies, etc.

This role also includes the delivery and pickup of properly labeled mail and packages.

Essential Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

The Material Handler Solvent Recover and Delivery Technicians primary function is to ensure that the life sciences manufacturing, administrative, laboratory and production zones are supplied with appropriate products including, but not limited to, specialty products including solvents, potable water, shipments, office supplies, etc.

This role also includes the delivery and pickup of properly labeled mail and packages.

The Material Handler Solvent Recover and Delivery Technician will visit each designated laboratory area, including daily visits to buildings 392, 259 and occasionally 41 in order to deliver and pick up products.

Additionally, the Delivery Coordinator will ensure that empty bottles are retrieved and discarded and / or recycled into the appropriate recycling and / or solid waste containers.

HPLC laboratory product reagents will also be delivered in a timely and safe manner. Further, dry ice product delivery will be performed throughout the designed campus.

The Delivery Coordinator will also coordinate the pick-up of de-minimus quantities of waste products and store them in the appropriate satellite accumulation areas for vendor pickup.

Additionally, all recyclable waste, including corrugated boxes, glass, metal, plastic, etc. must be managed and receipts obtained from the waste hauler for tracking purposes.

Incoming shipments of product may need to be off-loaded and safely stored by using a forklift. Pallet jacks also need to be utilized safely.

Deliveries and pickups for all client areas will be made via a motorized vehicle. The vehicle(s) being used may be battery operated and may need to be charged overnight.

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES

• Proper signing of shipping documents and records storage.
• Tracking of waste shipments.
• Communication via phone and email.
• Proper tracking of worked hours and time entry.
• Timely completion of training assignments.

OTHER SKILLS

• Provides for dock inspections and other quality assurance audits.
• Communication skills : Must accurately understand both written and oral communications.
• Computer skills : A good working knowledge of computer-based technology.
• Able to enter ones own payroll hours without error.
• Safely use a ladder within the manufacturer's guidelines
• Lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
• Safely access crawl spaces, attics, confined spaces, roof tops, etc.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Other duties as required.

EDUCATION / LICENSURES

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Military or job-related experience can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.

OTHER SKILLS

• Exemplary Communication skills with conflict resolution.
• High emotional intelligence.
• Must be able to write and speak with precision both in writing and orally.
• Must possess professional stature and moral integrity.
• Must possess high level critical-thinking skills.
• Need to work with multiple MS office applications with ease.
• Safely use a ladder within the manufacturer's guidelines.
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Safely access crawl spaces, attics, confined spaces, roof tops, etc.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions as needed.
