Description
The University of Mount Union is seeking a Housekeeper for an open position within the physical plant department. The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining an overall image within their assigned building that represents a clean and sanitary environment.
The Housekeeper is accountable to ensure that all duties and responsibilities assigned by their Supervisor are successfully completed.
The Housekeeper reports to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize all rooms within an assigned area or specific building.
- Maintain an overall neat and clean appearance of all areas.
- Daily and weekly duties include : dusting; wiping classroom furniture and other surfaces with a sanitizing product; cleaning mirrors and glass;
emptying trash and recycling receptacles; vacuum carpeted floors; dust mop and wet mop hard surface floors; and cleaning bathrooms
Perform other duties as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor.
The University provides professional training on all aspects of the cleaning industry. The Housekeeping Team is part of the Physical Plant Department with responsibilities for the care and upkeep of the 128-acre campus including 55 University owned buildings containing over 1.
3 million square feet of building space.
Qualifications
Previous housekeeping experience helpful but not required. Must be able to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities including following a written schedule.
Good communication skills are necessary along with a positive work attitude. Must be able to perform physical work. Must be available to work any shift, if needed.
A valid Ohio driver's license and a successful MVR is required to operate University vehicles.
This position is required to complete assigned University compliance training as communicated by the University.
