Responsibilities :
- Engage in a program of clinical speech / language serviceswhich includes identification remediation referral resource andadministrative services.
- Assume responsibilityfor the identification of children with speech and / or languageimpairments.
- Plan and develop interventionsand designate the professional delivery system for children andyouth with speech and language impairments after consultation withthe appropriate administrator(s).
- Develop andadhere to a regular schedule of speech / language services incompliance with recommendations in the student’sIEP.
- Establish procedures for an appropriateand efficient recordkeeping and evaluation system.
- Maintain an individual file record on every studentserved.
- Conduct speechlanguage evaluations andprepare comprehensive reports to be shared in the eligibilityprocess.
- Develop IEP goals and objectivesbased on student needs.
- Update progress towardIEP goals and objectives on a quarterly basis.
- Prepare and distribute as required by the SpecialEducation office narrative and / or statistical summaries of servicesprovided during the school year.
- Establisheffective working relationships through counseling and guidance ofschool personnel other professionals and parents regarding speechand language impairments.
- Assume primaryresponsibility for evaluating requesting and maintaining neededassistive technology / AAC equipment and supplies for students onyour caseload.
- Train necessary staff on AT / AACdevices and equipment.
- Possibly travel betweenschools within the district and outside of Homer 33C.
- Perform other tasks that may be assigned by the principalor Director of Special Services.
Qualifications :
- Master’s degree in speechlanguage pathologyfrom a program that meets ASHA certificationrequirements.
- One year of experiencepreferred.
- Current state license / PEL inspeechlanguage pathology.
- Experience inidentification evaluation and treatment of speech and languagedisorders.
