Responsibilities
- The primary function of the Marketing Manager is to take the lead on all marketing, communications, and public relations strategies and ensure all internal and external communication and initiatives align with the business development strategy.
- This position is responsible for preparing and submitting specific RFP or RFQ responses and helps to ensure all department goals are being met.
- The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing the department's written and graphic content for collateral and proposal responses, ensuring accuracy and high quality.
- The individual in this position will oversee documents created within the department, ensuring professional appearance and W.
E. O’Neil standards are met.
- This position will be highly focused on strategic marketing efforts, working with the Director of Business Development and Marketing on the creation and execution of marketing plans.
- Reporting Relationship : Reports to the Director of Business Development and Marketing.
- The duties, responsibilities, and attributes of the Marketing Manager typically include, but are not limited to :
- Prepares and leads marketing meetings to ensure coordination and prioritization of marketing efforts.
- Works with Business Development to provide strategic messaging for RFQ / RFP responses.
- Will work in conjunction with operations staff, interviewing and pulling information from them to produce marketing content.
- Develops content for effective company collateral, proposals, qualifications, presentations, project write-ups, and resumes.
- Produces valuable and engaging content and campaigns for our website and other social media outlets that support the brand.
- Supports efforts to achieve the goals of the company's business plan and helps the team achieve company initiatives.
- Collects, analyzes, and distributes client feedback from surveys and debrief meetings.
- Oversees the maintenance of collateral information and materials used in proposals and the database for contacts, leads, and opportunities.
- Leads training for the company on marketing best practices and promotes a business development culture.
- Provides periodic reports and department analytics to leadership.
- Analyzes reports and provides input to the leadership team.
- Writes company stories, editorials, and press releases.
- Leads the strategy, creation, and implementation of the annual marketing plan.
- Oversees the coordination of photographers and maintains asset libraries.
- Manages calendar of marketing activities and pursuit deadlines.
- Supports and demonstrates the pursuit process.
- Is a brand and strategy ambassador.
- Reviews all marketing content and graphics and provides coaching to staff.
- Provides client and project opportunity research.
- Builds and creates strong relationships with fellow employees.
- Attends events in the AEC community.
- Builds and maintains comradery in the department, keeping the team motivated and excited to find and pursue new opportunities.
- Proficient in the delegation of tasks, providing direction, training, feedback, and support as necessary.
- Drives creativity and process.
- Manages the creation of proposals and all marketing collateral among the department.
- Ensures brand management and consistency across all departments.
- Shows alignment with and promotes our corporate mission, vision, and values.
- Fits into our culture and relates to our people.
Qualifications
- Four-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, or Communications.
- 12+ years of marketing experience in the industry or a similar role.
- 12+ years of experience producing proposals and marketing collateral.
- CPSM certification is strongly encouraged.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
- Proficient in Cosential or similar CRM software.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Ability to navigate and organize files and folders in cloud-based platforms, such as Box.com.
- Demonstrated understanding of the importance of relationship-building.
- Well-developed time management and organization skills.
- Physical Demands : Performance of the required duties will require the physical ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction when visiting a W.E. O’Neil job site.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Performing this job requires using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, sit, talk, and hear and stand throughout the workday.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in one of W.E. O’Neil’s regional offices and, on occasion, may be required to visit the construction work site where the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, fumes, or airborne particles, outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.
The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
