Position : Biology Adjunct Instructor

Location : Athens Campus

Department : Life Science and Public Safety

Reports to : Divisional Academic Dean

Salary / Benefits : Salary is commensurate with education and experience. State of Georgia benefits package.

Responsibilities :

• Teach and coordinate the instruction of the lecture and co-requisite laboratory courses.
• Enforce health and safety requirements in classrooms and laboratories.
• Evaluate students on a regular basis and provide frequent feedback to students.
• Prepare and submit documentation of student progress.
• Adhere to course standards for each course assigned.
• Demonstrate effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with students, faculty, and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications :

• Master’s degree in Biology or related biological science with a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate semester hours in Biology, OR first professional degree in health field, i.e. MD, DVM, etc.
• Strong written and oral communications skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Two (2) years prior teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
• Ability in using online learning applications.
• Experience using BlackBoard as the online learning management system.
