Summary :
The system wide Program Manager is an expert nurse who utilizes a
collaborative and multidisciplinary approach for the organization of services
and processes necessary for the delivery of high-quality care standardized
across Memorial Healthcare System (MHS). The system wide Program Manager plays
a fundamental role in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the
service line.
Responsibilities :
Communicates plan of care to patient and family and solicits concerns,
questions, and issues for resolution. Follows-up with patient, hospital care
team and other providers to discuss the patient’s response to treatment.Chairs
relevant program committees to ensure dissemination of information and to
support continuous quality and process improvement.Remains current in related
field to ensure that the service line program is consistently incorporating
the most current evidence-based practices for the delivery of patient care.
Coordinates the development, implementation, review, and revision of program
standards, policies, procedures, order sets and protocols to improve quality
of care and for program development.Develops, implements, and maintains
quality improvement activities for the service line programs including
outcomes and efficiency analysis, preparing benchmark data reports, hospital
registry system reports, and other registries throughout the region and state.
Maintains quality data with the goal of achieving clinical excellence and
program certification.Assists in the oversight of the service line’s grants
and research activity, as applicable. Remains current as it relates to
research to ensure that the program is consistently incorporating the most
current evidence-based practice for delivering patient care.Interfaces with
leadership of key departments at different sites and the program Medical
Director(s). Consults with members of the care team to ensure effective and
efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes.
Monitors service line performance, as well as national trends and data to
identify opportunities for strategic program goals and
componentsservices.Serves as an educator in community activities and
participates in the programs marketing and growth strategies.Responsible for
providing the oversight, direction, coordination and care of patients from
admission to discharge. Serves as a resource and educator to healthcare team
members, patients, families, and community organizations. Coordinates and
develops community programs, community offerings, and education activities for
the clinical staff.Participates in strategic planning to establish operational
goals and objectives in alignment with MHS and if program manager for stroke
goals, must also be aligned with the American Heart and Stroke Association,
The Joint Commission for Accreditation (TJC) Det Norske Veritas (DNV), CMS
and other state and federally mandated regulatory agency guidelines, as
appropriate.

Complexity of Work : Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and
the ability to work with minimal supervision. Requires excellent leadership
skill with the ability to interact well across departments and throughout the
healthcare system. Requires excellent program management skills to effectively
provide broad clinical and quality oversight. Must be able to work in a
stressful environment and take appropriate action. Ability to work flexible
hours.Required Work Experience : Five (5) years of clinical or quality
management experience.Equivalent work experience may substitute for education
requirement. Equivalency for degree : Associate degree plus seven (7) years of
clinical or quality management experience.Other Information : Experience in
program development and coordination within a complex healthcare organization.
Evidence of ability to develop formalized education plans for patients and
staff. Polished presentation skills; ability to present to large audiences in
various professional forums. Excellent interpersonal communication, problem
solving, and conflict resolution skills. Able to function with a high degree
of independence while actively collaborating with members of the team.
Experience with data management systems and analytics for continuous process
improvement preferred. Doctorate in Nursing (DNP), Master’s in Nursing (MSN),
Certified Critical Registered Nurse (CCRN), Certified Neuroscience Registered
Nurse (CNRN), Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), and Stroke Care Registered
Nurse (SCRN) are all preferred, but not required. If certified, must maintain
certification in field of specialty.Additional Education Info : Masters in
Nursing (MSN) Preferred
