Job Description
The Medical Technologist is responsible for performing clinical laboratory testing which require independent thought and judgment.
- Responsible for the testing and assessment of blood products and ensures that all testing is completed in a correct and timely manner;
- follows established policies and procedures to ensure the highest quality of laboratory results; Responsible for the operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment;
maintains laboratory supply inventory; prepares specimens for testing as well as labeling of blood products; issuing products for transfusion and other duties as assigned.
Must meet CLIA requirements for testing personnel for moderate and high complexity testing.
Hours and Pay :
- The position is part-time, 3pm-11pm, with weekend, holiday and on call rotation
- $24.78 hourly rate
- SIGN-ON BONUS - A $500 bonus is paid at 6 months and another $500 bonus at 12 months, totaling $1,000
Qualifications :
- Great attention to detail is required
- Computer and Microsoft Office Software Proficiency
- Ability to multi-task, work in a team environment as well as independently
- Great organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, or biological science or medical technology
- Minimum one year laboratory experience preferred
- Ability to problem solve and utilize theoretical knowledge and critical thinking skills
