The New York Red Bulls are one of 29 teams in Major League Soccer (MLS). RBNY, one of the ten charter clubs of MLS, have competed in the league since its founding in 1996.
The Red Bulls play home matches at Red Bull Arena (RBA) in Harrison, New Jersey. The three-time MLS Supporters' Shield Winners are owned by the Austrian beverage company Red Bull for which the team is named.
The New York Red Bulls offer one of the nation's premier youth soccer development programs, from local soccer partnerships across New York and New Jersey to Regional Development Schools and the Red Bulls Academy teams.
Purpose of this Internship
The IT Internship at RBNY aims to provide a practical complement to a formal education in IT.
The program aims to help interns develop specific technical skills as well as soft skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.
In addition, give interns a taste of different career paths within IT and help them determine what they're most interested in, as well as offer an understanding of how IT functions in a real-world business environment and to expose interns to industry standards and practices.
In this case, specifically in the world of professional sports.
Job Description
- Contribute to ongoing IT projects by performing tasks assigned by project managers or team leads
- Conduct research on new technologies, vendors, or IT strategies that could benefit the organization.
- Create and update documentation for IT systems, procedures, and training materials.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops, and shadow experienced IT professionals to learn from their expertise.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with computer hardware, software, and networks. Even at a basic level, understanding how systems interconnect and operate is crucial
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems logically and systematically.
- Document solutions, write reports, and maintain clear documentation for technical procedures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members and explain technical issues to non-technical colleagues.
- Be able to work well in a team, as IT projects often require collaboration with various stakeholders.
- Precision and attention to detail when working with complex systems to avoid errors and identify issues.
