• Wehave 4 day with student weeks Mondays are ProfessionalDevelopment with staff and students attend Tuesday Friday.
• We provide "FlexTime" with a staggered start for Elementary and MiddleSchool. Elementary teachers hours are 7 : 15 3 : 00pm with flexplanning time from 3 : 00 4 : 15pm to reduce after schoolmeetings or taking work home.

Middle school teachers hours are 8 : 30 4 : 15 with flexplanning from 7 : 15 8 : 30am.

• We havea week long fall break in October a week long break in November andthen two weeks off in December / January. We also have a spring breakin March as well as a few extra Mondays off throughout the year.
• Our staff have a very positiveoutlook on working at Vega with high rates of engagement andsatisfaction many have become close friends who ski together onweekends or enjoy happy hours with staff.
• We really believe in a"whatever it takes" mindset because our staffcare deeply about the students they serve as well as each other andconstantly support one another.

• Weoffer a variety of opportunities to lead clubs based on yourinterests and the interests of students for additionalstipends.
• We pay teachers who areinterested in tutoring over breaks to work with smaller groups ofstudents for half days.
• From 8am12pm on Saturdays teachers can participate in a really funenvironment to build relationships and build academic achievementby teaching Saturday school for additional pay.

JobDescription

SpecialEducation teachers are passionate about developing and monitoringaccommodations for students with special needs. Special Educationteachers advocate for students and believe that specializedinstruction and related services increase academic achievement.

Special Education teachers offer academic emotional and physicalsupport while maintaining high expectations.

JobResponsibilities

Instruction

• Modifydifferentiate and teach an inclusive curriculum that emphasizesdiversity.
• Collaboratewith families and Special Education teams to develop 504 andIndividualized Education Plans (IEPs) that offer appropriateaccommodations andmodifications.
• Createan inclusive and safe environment where students feel empowered tobecome selfguidedlearners.

SpecialEducation SpecificResponsibilities

• Collaboratewith general education teachers school leaders and families toanalyze and respond to trends in student work samples andassessments and ensure compliance with Individualized EducationPlans.
• Gatheracademic growth data and write goals to prepare for annual IEPmeetings.
• Teachpullout pushin small group and oneonone instruction and implementstrategies to differentiate instruction for all learners in yourclassroom.

SchoolCulture

• Buildpositive relationships with students to ensure they feel seen lovedandheard.
• Partnerwith students families to ensure appropriate resources areavailable to support their childs learningneeds.
• Engagein practicebased professional development mentorship and coachingsessions.
• Participatein weekly schoolwide meetings to cultivate community model theschool s core values and encourage studentachievement.
• Partnerwith the Middle Academy team to develop academic goals and practiceinstructionalstrategies.

StartDate

VegaCollegiate Academy staff will begin training and orientation onJuly 22 2024.

Benefits

VegaCollegiate Academy offers a competitive salary and comprehensivehealth benefits package. The salary range for this role is $52000$90000.

Employees with 13 years experience at Vega are eligible fora 5k annual bonus. Employees with 4 years of experience at Vega areeligible for a 10k annual bonus.

Teachers who have an infieldstatus license receive a 1k bonus annually and teachers with a CLDEendorsement or Special Education license receive a 1.5k bonusannually.
