Position Information Job Title Instructor Department School of Criminology & Criminal Justice Essential Functions University of Nebraska at Omaha’s School of Criminology and Criminal Justice invites applications for two full-time faculty positions at the rank of Instructor (non-tenure track).
One position will have a primary appointment on the Omaha campus and the other position will have a primary appointment on the Lincoln Campus .
The appointment for both positions begins January 14, 2025 and is renewable on an annual basis. A Master’s degree in criminal justice, criminology, or closely related field is required, with a Ph.
D. strongly preferred. The standard teaching load is a 4 / 4 with additional service requirements. Candidates should anticipate teaching all classes in person.
Salary is nationally competitive and commensurate with experience.
The ideal candidate will complement or extend our existing curricular strengths and have the ability to teach a variety of introductory and upper-level undergraduate courses in Criminology and Criminal Justice.
All applicants must present evidence of high-quality instruction and service. We are particularly interested in candidates experienced with service-learning or community-engaged instruction.

The School of Criminology and Criminal Justice is co-located on the Omaha (UNO) and Lincoln (UNL) campuses of the University of Nebraska, and is committed to excellence in research, teaching, and community engagement.
The SCCJ has over 950 criminal justice undergraduate majors across the Omaha and Lincoln programs, and more than 100 master’s and doctoral students on the Omaha campus.
This position is located at UNO a premier metropolitan university designated as a Doctoral Granting Research University by the Carnegie Foundation.

Preferred Qualifications Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level in areas that would support or extend the existing criminology and criminal justice curriculum.
Candidates should have experience or interest in developing and / or teaching online courses, as well as incorporating service learning and community engagement events for undergraduate students.
