This role is based at our corporate headquarters in Chicago, IL (Fulton Market District) with a hybrid on-site work schedule.

Role Overview

As the Creative Project Manager, you will own the end-to-end management of creative projects, driving on-time, on-budget delivery of high-quality outputs that align with business goals.

Reporting to the Director of Creative Operations, your primary mission will be to streamline project intake, planning, and execution, optimizing resource allocation and enhancing team efficiency.

Success in this role will be measured by your ability to manage project milestones, mitigate risks, and ensure seamless coordination between creative teams, stakeholders, and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Project Intake and Scoping : Partner with creative leads and stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
  • Manage Project Execution : Oversee the lifecycle of creative projects, coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Resource Allocation and Task Management : Allocate resources effectively, manage task dependencies, and utilize project management tools to track progress and maintain project momentum.
  • Risk Management and Problem Solving : Identify potential project risks early, proactively develop mitigation strategies, and escalate issues to leadership as needed to keep projects on track.
  • Vendor Coordination : Manage vendor relationships, including obtaining estimates, opening purchase orders, and tracking invoices to control project costs.
  • Process Optimization : Continuously evaluate and improve workflow processes to enhance team efficiency and project outcomes.
  • Communication and Reporting : Maintain clear, consistent communication with all stakeholders, providing updates on project status and performance metrics.

Performance Objectives

  • Deliver Projects On Time and Within Budget : Achieve 95% on-time project delivery rate by actively managing timelines and resources, and minimizing scope creep.
  • Enhance Team Efficiency : Implement process improvements that reduce project turnaround time by 20% within the first 6 months.
  • Risk Mitigation : Identify and resolve 90% of project risks before impacting project delivery through proactive communication and problem-solving strategies.
  • Vendor Management : Negotiate and manage vendor contracts effectively, achieving cost savings of 10% on external resources within the first year.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Project Management, or a related field. 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in an agency or corporate creative environment.
  • Proven track record of managing complex, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Expert organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in project management methodologies and software (Hive preferred).
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to learning, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
