The Team and Job Summary

We are seeking a Consulting Engineer to join our Equipment Consulting team. This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial, highly driven person with a well-rounded skill set to join the Equipment team, whose responsibilities extend beyond those of traditional Engineers.

The ideal person for this role will need to not only have a strong grasp of Mechanical Engineering, but also be flexible and a strategic thinker able to take on a variety of tasks.

In addition, we value individuals with experience in Electrical Engineering, as the interplay between these two disciplines can often lead to innovative solutions.

A background in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering will be a significant advantage in this role, providing a broader perspective and enhancing the team's problem-solving capabilities.

Job Responsibilities

• Inspect and evaluate damages to different types of mechanical and electronic systems, such as, machinery, refrigeration systems, furnaces, conveyance systems, elevators, UPS, boilers, medical equipment, laboratory equipment, injection molding machinery, industrial plants, and a variety of other mechanical equipment.
• Conduct configuration audits.
• Analyze requirements and specifications to determine comparable equipment replacements.
• Provide research for determining costs associated with equipment replacement (i.e., new and used).
• Expected to produce 3+ page written reports regularly.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering (BSME) with over 5 years of experience in engineering design, analysis, or applications
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Computer skills (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• A desire to learn, excel and grow with us and within the profession
• Required to travel, sometimes at short notice.

Physical and Mental Job Qualifications

• Must be prepared for both planned and last-minute travel as part of their responsibilities. This requires both physical readiness and mental adaptability to handle the demands of different work environments and schedules.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Must be able to travel to various project sites.
• Must be able to access and inspect all areas of mechanical, electrical and / or IT equipment
• Prolonged periods of standing, bending, kneeling and lifting.
