As a member of WestRock’s Warehousing and Distribution Team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of WestRock’s distribution network of regional distribution centers, warehouses, cross dock programs, and other enterprise warehousing solutions.

This will require that you combine communication skills, problem solving, and knowledge of distribution functions as you lead initiatives, maintain inventory accuracy, and troubleshoot operational challenges.

You will have exposure to multiple areas of the enterprise. You will interact with various WestRock team members including (but not limited to) business units, customer service, supply chain, accounting, mill logistics, and quality.

You will also partner with people outside of WestRock such as 3PL providers and transportation carriers to create and maintain effective and efficient warehousing programs while minimizing costs.

You will be integral in providing warehousing and logistics solutions for WestRock and its customers.

How you will impact WestRock :

Work both independently and with cross-functional teams to continuously improve our warehousing and distribution network.

Provide short-term solutions as necessary in response to unexpected events.

Create metrics scorecards and reporting solutions.

Develop a clear understanding of multiple warehouse locations’ supply chains, operations, and associated costs.

Help drive great service at the lowest possible cost

Assure inventory accuracy through the processing and reconciliation of shipments and receipts

Identify opportunities to control or reduce operating expenses.

You will lead and participate in projects and small groups that result in process improvements

What you need to succeed :

Bachelor’s degree

2+ years in distribution operations and / or inventory management

In-depth knowledge of Excel

Multi-site inventory management experience and / or operations responsibility.

Must possess superior communication skills

Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, supply chain, and logistics

Demonstrated analytical / problem solving ability.

The willingness and ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus quickly as needed

The ability to work in both micro and macro level detail as appropriate for the task

Exhibit leadership qualities consistently through effective execution. Actively participate in projects. Take ownership of problem solving and escalate as appropriate.

Work to influence cross-functionally and with external vendors to do what is right for WestRock.

This position will require up to 30% travel.
