Qualifications : Required :
Required :
- Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution or military service equivalent required,
- MLT certification from ASCP within 8 months of employment or equivalent,
Scheduling Requirements :

Essential Functions :
- Produces medical diagnostic test results in an efficient and cost effective manner for stat and routine specimens,
- Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs instruments and lab equipment if possible,
- Maintains all necessary QC, QA and repair records required by accreditation agencies,
- Verifies orders from scripts and orders procedures in HIS and LIS,
- Assists in clerical duties as needed,
- Assists in the training of new employees and students,
- Segregates laboratory wastes according to established policies,
- Works on special projects as requested by Director,
- Applies the knowledge and skills necessary to assess data reflective of each patient's status and provide acre appropriate to the age of the patient served : infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric,
