POSITION OVERVIEW
The Financial Controller is responsible for preparing and analyzing financial performance by collecting data, consolidating financials, monitoring variances, and identifying trends to provide recommendations to leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, maintain and distribute financial analysis to aid in business decisions, such as cash flow analysis, productivity reports, physician compensation, proformas, expense savings, etc.
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, P&L, balance sheet, physician statistics, and partner productivity.
- Complete month-end close process and analyze results.
- Verify invoices are accurate and process payments.
- Participate in Executive Committee and Stockholder meetings; record minutes, prepare reports, follow up on items.
- Prepare financial information for retirement plans, including reconciliations, profit sharing calculations and IRS reporting;
serve on fiduciary committee.
- Budgeting and cash flow management for the company’s self-funded insurance plan.
- Prepare healthcare revenue cycle analysis.
- Assist with healthcare contract negotiations.
- Manage office lease negotiations and oversee maintenance and buildout projects.
- Prepare annual financial information binder for external accountant.
- Prepare and present financial statements, reports, and analysis to the CEO and Executive Committee.
- Collaborate with other division managers to drive the overall strategic direction of the organization.
- Provide leadership and direction to the finance and Revenue Cycle department.
- Work closely with CEO and aid with various duties.
- Assist HR Manager with employee and benefit administration along with other duties as needed.
- Backup payroll administrator and prepare salary summaries as needed.
- Oversee the organization's accounting and financial systems using QuickBooks and MS Excel.
- Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and ensure adequate liquidity for operations.
- Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives and efficiency improvements.
- Prepare budget and analyze variances.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the organization's growth and operational goals.
Requirements :
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
Experience
Minimum 5 years financial or accounting experience (Healthcare experience preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven experience as a financial professional in a hospital, medical practice, or healthcare setting.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, MS Excel and other financial management software.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical as well as strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
