KH017 - Full-Time Live-Out Nanny/Family Assistant - Houston, TX
Overview
A kind family of three in Houston, Texas is looking for a full-time live-out nanny / family assistant for their new baby who will hopefully stay with them for years.
The schedule will be Monday through Friday 9am-5pm. While the baby is still young, the parents may ask for occasional weekend help but do plan to have a babysitter for evenings and weekends as the baby gets older.
Responsibilities
- Childcare of infant under 6-months-old and any future children the family has
- Tidying, light cleaning, and maintaining the organization of the home. There is a housekeeper three days per week who does the deep cleaning
- Laundry
- Family assistant tasks : watering plants, breaking down boxes, taking out the trash, organizing, possibly running errands
- Cooking for baby once he is having solids; meal prep and cooking family meals would be nice to have but not required
- Pet care including refilling the water bowl and letting the dog outside; if the candidate wants to take the dog on walks he would be thrilled but not required
- Occasional house or pet sitting for additional pay (guest house available)
Qualifications
- Team player happy to partner with stay-at-home mother and housekeeper
- Flexible and reliable
- Warm and nurturing personality
- Ability to read the room and handle other tasks while the baby is with parents
- Proactive and a self-starter (the parents do not want to micromanage)
- Excited to travel with the family which is usually 3-5 weeks during the summer and then long weekends and up to a week throughout the year;
during travel nanny will be provided with accommodations
Water safe and comfortable swimming with children
Requirements
- Love working with children and have infant experience. The family does not "baby talk" but rather treat the baby as a person with respect and kindness
- Driver's license and clean driving record
- Comfortable with large friendly dog (retriever)
- Legal to work in the US
Salary and Benefits
$28-30+ per hour depending on experience and qualifications
Benefits include sick days, guaranteed hours, PTO, and paid holidays if working
The position is open to candidates from other parts of Texas and the chosen candidate could stay in the guest house for a few weeks while securing live-out housing.
