Position Summary
The Manager, Data Security Governance, is an important member of the Enterprise Information Security (EIS) organization Data Protection Services team focused on working with cutting-edge technology to manage the risk of emerging threats to data;
identifying, managing and supporting data security governance; and strategy initiatives to protect data and reduce data loss risks.
The ideal candidate will have proven success leading security governance, project planning and demonstrate innovative use of technology.
The Manager, Data Security Governance will foster a culture of innovation to enable secure business solutions, drive operational excellence, optimize operating costs through technology rationalization, centralization and standardization and drive workforce strategy.
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities :
- Drive program planning, prioritizing and delivery of data security governance and strategy initiatives to protect unstructured and structured data in hybrid environments.
- Facilitate a data-driven, risk-based approach to develop, manage and maintain data protection control standards, procedures and guidelines.
- Oversight of data security findings and remediation plans, tracking progress and assist with coordinating cross functional interactions.
- Negotiate the sequencing and timing of project delivery with technology leadership, product, and engineering teams.
- Manage and coordinate data protection audit, compliance, regulatory, client assurance, and third-party assessment projects.
- Identify, implement and support strategic projects to enhance and mature data classification, labeling, data loss prevention, encryption, and cloud data security protection.
- Develop and implement communication strategies to maintain stakeholder visibility and awareness on all Data Protection initiatives.
- Develop and maintain data protection dashboard, metrics roadmap, and scorecards.
- Lead data protection change management, knowledge base, awareness and communication for enterprise-wide programs.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of technical program management experience running sophisticated, multi-functional programs with multiples dependencies and collaborators on cybersecurity governance and strategy.
- 3+ years of experience in leading mid-sized to large data security projects.
- Passionate understanding and working knowledge of data protection fundamentals and risk-based approach to information security.
- Continuous improvement mindset for file-tuning processes and controls, and to increase efficiency across the team.
- Demonstrated experience working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels on strategic and operational information security programs.
- Strong analytical abilities, verbal / written communication, and interpersonal skills
- Quickly adapts to changing events, reprioritizing efforts, and realign resources to fulfil large scale / complex requests.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of data protection techniques and best practices.
- Experience with security solutions for data loss prevention, encryption, proxy, cloud data security, structured data security, and insider risk.
- Industry certifications from PMI, ISC2, SANS, ISACA, IAPP or equivalent.
- Knowledge of data security and privacy regulatory compliance, frameworks and standards such as PCI, HIPAA, NIST, FIPS 140-2, GDPR, CCPA.
- Continuous learner well informed on technology trends, methodologies, and models, AI and ML
- Ability to manage a high degree of complexity and distill information that provides clear direction.
- Strong attention to detail and a focus on mobilizing the organization to deliver the strategy.
- Ability to motivate others with high expectations to facilitate impact and pace of change.
- Agility to deal with a constantly changing business environments.
- Comfortable operating within areas of ambiguity to iterate and make progress in a consistent manner.

Education
BS degree in Information Security, Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent discipline or High School Diploma / GED accompanied by the additional equivalent years of work experience required.
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is :
$92,700.00 - $185,400.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.
The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
