About the Position :
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Lewis & Clark College seeks an experienced and dynamic admissions professional whose primary responsibilities will include coordinating the office’s communication and marketing efforts and recruitment of undergraduate students.
This position also includes supervision of admissions personnel.
The successful candidate will have experience recruiting students to an undergraduate program. They also should have experience organizing and implementing multi-channel communications efforts and experience creating marketing content within an office of admissions.
They should have a passion for higher education and be adept at explaining the benefits of a liberal arts education.
Essential Functions :
The ideal candidate for this position will be responsible for working with our senior staff and with the college’s Office of Communications to implement a communication strategy for marketing the college to prospective and admitted students.
An eye for detail, excellent written and organizational skills, and a collaborative and creative mindset are essential. In a time of rapidly-evolving media options, we anticipate this person helping Lewis & Clark College remain relevant in a changing marketplace.
This position is also responsible for a recruitment territory, representing Lewis & Clark College to students and families.
They will be responsible for cultivating the college’s relationships with schools and organizations within their territory.
The position will require up to 5 weeks per year of travel, along with on-campus visit responsibilities including conducting group information sessions, interviews, and participating in large on-campus events.
They will also be responsible for file review for their territory in a collaborative team reading model.
As a member of the undergraduate Admissions Office, this person will be part of a larger team of skilled admissions professionals.
They will be expected to collaborate with others in the office to achieve the enrollment goals of the college. Depending on experience, we anticipate this person may supervise staff members.
Supervision will include being a member of hiring committees, assisting in staff training, and providing ongoing support and feedback for members of the admissions counseling staff.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university required
4 years of professional experience in college admissions and recruitment
Experience working with a CRM
Excellent organizational skills
Strong critical thinking skills
Exceptional skills working with multiple offices across campus
Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to work outside of normal working hours - includes evening and weekend work
Ability to travel
Creative problem solver
Excellent writing, customer service, and communication skills.
Experience working with or in diverse communities.
Commitment to a student-centered / customer service-oriented philosophy.
Has a valid U.S. driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications :
High level of self-motivation, enthusiasm, and initiative.
Experience working with Slate CRM
5-6 years of professional experience within college admissions, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience working with marketing or communications
Advanced degree
