Thus firm is currently seeking an entry level associate as well as an associate with 3+ years of experience in patent and intellectual property litigation.
The ideal candidates should have a technical background, preferably in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
As part of this legal team, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging and interesting cases in all aspects of litigation. Responsibilities :
- Work closely with a trial team on patent and intellectual property litigation matters
- Conduct legal research and analysis
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses
- Prepare for trials by organizing evidence, exhibits, and witnesses
- Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, experts, and other professionals involved in the case
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure timely filing of documents
- Stay updated with changes in laws related to patents and other intellectual property rights Qualifications :
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the New York state bar (or ability to waive into the state bar)
- Technical background preferably in electrical engineering or computer science
- Strong academic credentials
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated individual who can work well independently as well as part of a team
Experience in patent or other intellectual property litigation is preferred but not required for the entry level position.
